Music of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, 2008's most anticipated movie, directed by Aditya Chopra after a gap of 8 years has finally hit the stores. This film has a lot of expectations considering it's the first release of Shahrukh Khan this year, debutant Anushka Sharma who is creating a lot of buzz among the crowd, combination of Shahrukh and Aditya which created history with DDLJ in 1995, and Yash Raj Films, which are looking for a big hit this year.

In Bollywood, music of the movie plays a vital role in the success of the movie and if the songs are good then half of the battle is won. Looking back at the track record of Salim – Sulaiman, who also gave the music for Chak De India in 2007 and Fashion this year, winning half of the battle doesn't seem to be a big problem. 1. Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai

Roop Kumar Rathod does it again! After making "Maula Mere Maula" a classic with his melodious voice, Roop takes Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai to a whole new level. It requires only one listen to love this song. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this ultimate romantic number. Background vocals add the required mysterious romantic feel to Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai and the music is simple and yet, melodious to ears.

There is also a short version of this song sung beautifully by Shreya Ghoshal. Some of you prefer the short version because it's too good and also because of the fact that there is only one song of Shreya in the soundtrack.

Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna political rivalry

Hyderabad, Nov 08, BharatSpace: The ensuing elections in Andhra Pradesh is likely to witness a keen tussle among top stars of the Telugu film industry, with the ruling Congress party planning to rope in popular actor Akkineni Nagarjuna to counter Megastar Chiranjeevi as well as former chief minister N T Rama Rao’s sons and grandsons.

With Chiranjeevi launching his Praja Rajyam party and the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) banking on its founder NTR’s family, the ruling party too has decided to utilise some film glamour.

After roping in Nagarjuna to act in some television advertisements to publicise its welfare schemes, the Congress is planning to convince him to campaign for the party in the elections, due to be held in March-April next year. The Congress began its efforts to rope in Nagarjuna soon after a massive public meeting organised by the TDP in Guntur.

NTR’s son and popular actor Balakarishna took a plunge into politics at the meeting, which was also attended by two actor grandsons of NTR. The ruling party’s move also came amid the ongoing state-wide ‘yatra’ of Chiranjeevi, who is attracting huge crowds.

Nagarjuna, son of thespian Akkineni Nageswara Rao, already featured in some advertisements highlighting welfare schemes of the Congress government. These advertisements hit television screens two days ago. The 49-year-old actor, who has a mass following, had featured in a few advertisements on behalf of TDP before the 2004 elections.

Though Congress leaders often claimed that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy alone was capable of taking on actors like Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna, the party now seems to have realised that it needs star charisma to retain power.

Congress has already made efforts to woo young and popular actor Mahesh Babu to campaign for the party. While Mahesh Babu remained non-committal, his father and superstar of yesteryears Krishna has already announced that he would support the ruling party.

Krishna, a former Congress MP, even formed an association of fans called Krishna-Mahesh Sena.

The ruling party recently inducted actors like Rajasekhar, his wife Jeevitha, Jayasudha and Srihari to add glamour in its ranks.

Though TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has not yet succeeded in roping in NTR’s grandson and one of the top actors Junior NTR, his party is confident after the success of the Guntur meeting that the star appeal of Balakrishna, his brother and TDP MP Harkrishna, NTR’s grandsons Tarakaranta and Kalyan Ram is enough to bring the party back to power.

While both Congress and TDP are adding several stars to their ranks, Chiranjeevi is fighting a lone battle by banking heavily on his fan following.

"No complaints with my role’s length in ‘Fashion’" - Arjan Bajwa

Arjan Bajwa may have found himself completely missing from the proceedings in the second half of ‘Fashion’ but he has no complaints whatsoever. He is happy that in his career spanning 5 years, ever since he made a forgettable debut in ‘Woh Tera Naam Tha’, it is Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ that has got him maximum visibility. This is what he always expected from the film and he is glad that he has got much more than what he had bargained for.

"Seriously yaar, I don’t have any complaints at all", says Arjan in an honest tone, "It’s not that what I saw in the final print surprised me; not at all. I always knew what was the length of my role, there was nothing which was unnecessarily chopped from the final edit. Also in essence the character that I played was not shortchanged at all. I am very happy with whatever I have gained from ‘Fashion’."

There was always a threat to be overshadowed in a film which mainly centered on the three women - Priyanka, Kangna and Mugdha. In the end it turned out to be Priyanka’s film all the way. Doesn’t that worry him?

"I would have been worried had I not taken a conscious decision or would have found myself betrayed. But aisa kuch hai hi nahi. You tell me, isn’t it great to see all the visibility that has come my way in spite of ‘Fashion’ being a story of three women? Today, whatever hype that has been built around me, it is courtesy ‘Fashion’. I did films like ‘Guru’ and recently ‘Summer 2007′ but none provided me such mileage. I am glad ‘Fashion’ happened to me", Arjan says in a matter of fact tone.

He would agree though that ‘Fashion’ is a stepping stone in his career and now he should be hunting for meatier parts.

"Of course yes", Arjan is quick to comment, "I can’t sit and bask in the glory of the film’s success for day in and night out. I am happy and thankful that ‘Fashion’ is a success. Now I have to aim for further heights. I am getting good feelers from quite a few prominent film makers from the industry and looking forward to the talks translating into projects."

Too hot to handle!

Trust the Censor Board to play spoilt sport. The promos of Pia Trivedi’s new show, Dress Circle where she plays an edgy film magazine editor, will be barred from screening if the objectionable portions are not edited.

The Board feels that the promos are too hot and daring. Producer of Dress Circle, Rohit Roy had decided to slot the promos of the show to be screened in theatres.

The Censor Board further said that even if the promos were suitably edited, they will be released only in the theatres running films with ‘A’ certificate.

Our source said, “The promos of the show have Pia wearing a flimsy bikini in the pool and revealing a lot of skin when she is lying on the bed.”

Abhishek falls ill in Kerala, Amitabh worried

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, who is currently shooting with wife Aishwarya in Kerala for Mani Ratnam’s ’Raavan’, has fallen ill, revealed father Amitabh.

Amitabh wrote on his blog that the morning of Wednesday was very eventful for him.

“As I step out of bed in the early hours of today (Wednesday), Obama wins, B.R. Chopra passes away and Aishwarya calls that Abhishek is down with shivering and high fever. All three events come across simultaneously within seconds,” Amitabh wrote.

The actor was squashed between repeated attempts to check up on Abhishek’s health and between “intrusions of the media seeking reactions to Chopra ’saheb’”.

“I want to get through to Abhishek, media is worried as they have a deadline,” he added.

Amitabh wrote that Abhishek might be suffering in Kerala, “a distant location”, due to “rough conditions, rain and dirt”.

The actor expressed his irritation about the situation when questions about Chopra’s death changed to queries over Abhishek’s health.

A worried father, Amitabh managed to arrange a conference call between Abhishek and a doctor, who prescribed medicines to Bachchan junior. - (ians)

Sunil came to Hyderabad with a view to get a chance in any department in the film industry. Incidentally, he became a comedian and earned a star image. Not only as a comedian, he turned a hero too and his film ‘Andala Ramudu’ was a big hit those days. However, he continued to remain a comedian, but did not attempt to do any role that comes in his way. Again he is playing a hero in the direction of SS Rajamouli now. Though many other established heroes are vying for a chance to work under Rajamouli, Sunil bagged the opportunity.

Meanwhile, a gossip is doing rounds that Sunil is going to take up direction. Moreover, it seems the film is going to be produced by Trivikram Srinivas. Rumours say that the film is likely to start rolling in summer next year. If this gossip is true, Sunil would create a record of working with four directors in one year as hero. As per information, Sunil is going to play hero under Rajamouli’s direction, with Mullapudi Vara providing the story. Chandrasekhar Yeleti penning the screenplay. According to reliable sources, Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus Marma Yogi has been postponed indefinitely. Trisha, who was cast as the lead opposite Kamal gave bulk dates for the film and had even stopped signing on new films. But the actress has now reportedly accepted two new projects. A favourite of ace director Selvaraghavan, he approached her for his next movie with Vishal.

Trisha, who had teamed up with Selva earlier for Adavari Matalaku Arthale Verule, was floored by the offbeat script that he narrated and has given her consent for it. In fact, Selva has planned to make the movie in both Tamil and Telugu and Junior NTR has been approached for the Telugu version. Trisha will play the heroine in both versions.

Pawan Kalyan's 'Puli Gandrinpu' In Vijayawada

Just when the Telugu Desam Party have been reveling over the success of their 'Yuvagarjana' it appears that they are going to find more than their match in the form of Megastar Chiranjeevi and his 'Praja Rajyam Party'. Representing him would be none other than Power star Pawan Kalyan.

There is news that Pawan has already begun chalking out plans with the PRP folk and there is news that he has titled his forthcoming public meeting as 'Puli Gandrinpu'. The venue has been chosen as Vijayawada which has a strong share of 'Kapus' and Chiru will be addressing the crowd in his regular manner.

Estimates say that this will also be a thundering event bound to happen and the plans are on to hold it during the month of December close to the elections time. Sonam Kapoor to clash again with SRK

The manner in which her debut film 'Saawariya' was muzzled by the might of Shah Rukh Khan's much hyped 'Om Shanti Om' last year, a clash with SRK would be the last thing Sonam Kapoor would want at any point in her career again. But unfortunately for the actress, SRK has come in her way again with his home production 'Billo Barber' that may release on the same day as Sonam's second film Dilli 6.

Sources say that Shah Rukh Khan is planning to release his Priyadarshan directed film on 13th of February next year, the day 'Dilli 6' is scheduled to release too. Interestingly, 'Dilli 6' directed by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra stars the Bachchans too. While Abhishek and Jaya play pivotal roles, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a cameo in the film.

Apparently, Abhishek Bachchan is said to be unhappy with the development as he is well aware of the marketing prowess of SRK which was seen by all during the 'OSO' v/s 'Saawariya' battle. And he surely wouldn't want such a thing to happen with him, especially after the debacle of his latest film 'Drona'. We hear he has asked his co-producers UTV to postpone the release date of 'Dilli 6'. But UTV does not seem to be in the mood to delay the film further considering exam season and IPL 2 thereafter, which may affect the film adversely too.

Actress Shriya Saran’s Mission Istanbul has bombed at the box office, but she is happy with the way her career is shaping up.

From music videos to Tollywood to the Hindi film industry and now Hollywood, she has been climbing the ladder of success.

Back in the city for the shooting of a Tamil film Kandaswami, Shriya says, “Hyderabad is like home to me and it feels great to be here. I was at the Poison launch party and met up with all my old friends after such a long time.”

Disappointed with the failure of Mission Istanbul?

“When a film doesn’t do well, it is natural that you will feel bad. But the important thing is I have given it my 100 per cent and have worked very hard for the film,” she says.

When asked what she felt went wrong with the film, she replied, “It’s not right for me to comment on this. A film is a by-product of the energies and efforts of a lot of people. On hindsight, you can point out many mistakes, but you can never be sure about the fate of a movie from before it releases.”

Talking about her recent Tamil film, Shriya says that though it is a commercial movie, it has a poignant social message. “The film is about the economic disparity in the country — how the rich are getting richer while the poor are becoming poorer. Sushi Ganeshan is the director while Vikram is my co-actor. I had a good time doing the film. It’s a commercial film but at the same time deals with a topic that is so true of India.”

Sumanth Is Worried And Disturbed

He might be called as the struggling star of the Akkineni clan since all the movies that he has starred in have not been able to generate success at the box office and it was only through multi-starrers that his mettle and presence have been felt. He is none other than the tall and lanky Sumanth.

Now, he is all set to appear as a cop (with a funny moustache) in his forthcoming venture 'Vijay IPS' on the 7th of this month but then it is heard that he has not been too happy with the way the whole thing has gone till now. Apparently, the promos have not been upto the mark and there has been no aggressive marketing of the movie.

Nagma is Back to tollywood

Nagma forayed into Tollywood in ‘Peddintalludu’ starring opposite Suman. The first initiated by director Sharath paved way for a remarkable career for the actress and then the rest is history. She became the most sought after heroine of Tollywood and enacted beside the most popular heroes of the contemporary time.

Venkatesh’s family audiences are rooted to his wholesome entertainers including the recent Chintakayala Ravi. On the same line, this movie bearing a unique title is about to be made on a new plot that captivates the viewers. Interests are ashore about this yet to be started venture already. November 15 is the day that is decided for commencing the production works.

Trisha who was last seen with Venky in the well known hit ‘Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule’ is now being mustered up once again with the hero to play the lead cast.

"Billa"abroad to Bangkok

Prabhas literally dons the role in ‘Billa’ opposite the ladies Anushka and Namitha playing the lead cast. Krishnam Raju enacts an important role in this movie directed by Meher Ramesh, the man behind ‘Kanthri’. Gopikrishna Movies presents this movie in the combined production of Prabhod and Narendra.

Recently from 20 to 27 October a song and chasing sequences have been filmed. The next schedule of the film is going to start from 7th this month, at the Bangkok and Malaysia. It is learnt that during this schedule some key sequences will be canned.

Billa was launched under much fanfare during Vijayadasami on 9th October. Socialites of the film fraternity were present in this event and the movie is fast growing with the canning of a song and chase sequence between 20 and 27 of October.

The next schedule starts from 7th of this month which will be made in Bangkok and Malaysia. News is during this time prominent sequences of the movie will be made featuring the lead cast.

Mahesh and his biceps

The era of washboard abs or commonly known six packs has now dawned upon Tollywood. Erstwhile, it was among the Bollywood people Hrithik Roshan, Sharukh Khan, Amir Khan and now in Telugu among the likes of Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj, Vishal and Surya. It is now star hero Mahesh Babu’s turn to join the six pack league of gentleman and flaunt his taut abs. But, instead of straining his tone on the abs, he is planning to build his biceps. An amalgamation of tight abs accompanied by a gorgeous biceps is sure a new trend engendered by Mahesh Babu.

His biceps are being put under stress to create a fresh feel in his looks for his upcoming movie in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. Singanamala Ramesh produces this movie on Kanaka Ratna Movies banner.

Titled for the time being as ‘Varudu’, the movie launch was held in the month of May. Industry talk reveals that the on-going shoot will start from the 15th of November at Ramoji Film City. The cast and crew then start off to the arid deserts of Rajasthan for a prolonged schedule of 60 days for filming.

A few sequences that has a rural backdrop will be canned from Nov 22, in the locales of Pollachi, Kerala. Intro song choreographed by Raju Sundaram is decided to be canned in South Africa and Namibia from the 1st of February. Apart from this, two more songs will be done by Bollywood choreographers Saroj Khan and Vaibhav Marchant.

Mahesh Babu now drives a Taxi in this movie, as he plays the role of a taxi driver. The antagonist role is entrusted to Prakash Raj and Suneel plays Mahesh’s buddy. The change script might adversely affect the title and this movie might be rechristened in awhile.

The filming is planned to be completed in the upcoming schedules in April and May and is slated for a July 18 release.

Devi Sri and Charmee’s film from 24th

There have been many rumors about Devi Sri Prasad going steady with Charmme in the past. They always made it clear that they were just good friends. The pair of Charmme and Devi Sri Prasad are pairing up for a film to be produced by Frames Entertainments banner that produced Yamagola Malli Modalaindi in the past. Pavan is going to direct this film. This film will be launched on 24 of this month.

Telugu Desam Party sounds election bugle

NTR PRANGANAM (GUNTUR): Telugu Desam Party sounded the election bugle through its mammoth ‘Yuva Garjana’ held here on Wednesday, which also signalled the formal entry of filmstar and N.T. Rama Rao’s son Nandamuri Balakrishna into politics here on Wednesday.

The meet which witnessed a near-stampede situation in the enclosures surrounding the dais was also used by the party to unveil its youth policy named ‘YES’ (Youth Empowerment Scheme).

Rs. 50,000 crore

The scheme envisages several measures to provide jobs for the youth through allocation of Rs. 50,000 crore over a period of five years.

Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu who announced the scheme said that a separate ministry would be created to implement it.

Slew of sops announced at the meeting include loans at 10 paise interest rate, an unemployment allowance of Rs.1,000 per month to the unemployed, and free education for poor students among the forward castes.

Describing youth as a political powerhouse, he said positive change could come only through their involvement and expressed satisfaction over support from the youth to the party at a time when some defectors deserted it.

He also announced a Rs. 500-crore budget for the minorities with a 5 per cent reservation for Muslims if Telugu Desam Party returned to power.

On Telangana, he said the party would go as per the sentiments of the people and not force its decision on them.

Whenever the name of Nandamuri clan was invoked it met with rapturous response from the teeming crowds, who repeatedly cheered Mr. Balakrishna during the course of his address.

Mr. Balakrishna declared that he was taking up this political responsibility unable to tolerate the present situation in the State and gave a call to the youth to throw out the “corrupt Congress”.

He said his services would be available to the party and recalled that N.T. Rama Rao had given preference to the honest and efficient youth to enter the portals of Assembly.

Lashing out at the Congress, Mr. Balakrishna said when N.T. Rama Rao was in power he never encouraged nepotism.

The Congress rule was marked by atrocities on women, corruption, rowdyism, and terrorism.

“People today live in constant fear wondering when and where a bomb will explode,” Mr. Balakrishna quipped .

NTR’s ideals

Harikrishna described the fight for power between Congress and Telugu Desam Party as the one between “adharma and dharma” and asserted that the Nandamuri clan would seek people’s mandate for upholding N.T. Rama Rao’s ideals for Telugu people.

Cine stars Kalyanram and Tarakaratna were also present on the dais adding colour to the event being described by party people as a clear indicator for their wresting power in 2009 Assembly elections.

Vishnu Corrects His Wife's Spelling

This might sound like an outcome of a numerological suggestion or perhaps a genuine case of mispronunciation and understanding of the name but then the fiancée of Manchu Vishnuvardhan Babu who is better known as the daughter of Y S Sudhakar Reddy, brother of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was known as Veronica till recently.

Apparently, her name is not Veronica and it is Viranica. This was revealed by none other than Vishnu himself who blushed at the very pronunciation of her name. Recently, their engagement took place in a grand gala style and now the wedding is on the anvil and folks say that it will be done in a never before manner.

For now, Vishnu is busy with the shooting of his film 'Saleem' and Viranica happens to be a graduate from the US who has done jewelry designing. Abhinayasri paid Rs 5 lakh as penalty to ensure her release in Bangkok

Abhinayasri, an upcoming actress who won prestigious Nandi award in 2006 for her best performance as comedienne in “Paisalo Paramathma”. She won the hearts of the Telugu masses with her dance in ‘Aa Ante Amalapuram’. The song became one of the biggest hits in the industry because of her sizzling moves she got an opportunity in the movie roles and item numbers in Tollywood. Even acted in “SMS’, “Venkat Tho Alivelu”, “Hari Om” and other movies. Moreover, the appearance of Mumaith Khan into the Tollywood deprived her chances and she lost many opportunities in the Telugu film industry. Abhinayasri had no choice left and started doing stage performances.

Lately, it was reported that she was in Bangkok for a stage show and consumed heavy dose of liquor and under its influence, she quarrelled with the organizers and there was a serious verbal duel with the bystanders too. The Bangkok police registered a case against the Abhinayasri and also took her into custody and shifted her to police station. The organisers went to the police station and paid Rs 5 lakh as penalty for her release.

Reel Talk: Aishwarya Rai Back To Work

After having taken up the roles of an obedient daughter-in-law and then a daughter in her real life, the gorgeous beauty Aishwarya Rai is finally back to work and even her birthday was spent working from 5am to 7pm barring a dinner with the crew members after the shooting got over.

Purandareshwari is still with us: Harikrishna

The letter written by NTR's daughter and union minister Daggubati Purandareshwari, expressing her anguish at her brothers supporting Chandrababu Naidu did not create much impact on the Nandamuri family.

Naidu entrusted the task of tackling her to Harikrishna. And Harikrishna categorically declared that there were no differences between them and Purandareshwari. "We all belong to one family. And we are all one, though she joined the Congress party. We do not want to take her letter seriously, which is the handiwork of the Congress leaders to defame the Telugu Desam party," he said.

The Congress, however, is planning to make use of her services to attack the TD. But, she will confine her attack only to Chandrababu Naidu, but not her brothers. Does it have any impact?

Chiranjeevi will be completing his Telangana tour today. He would be touring Rayala Seema from 12 November. His tour will start on 12 in Anantapuram district and will be completed on 17 in Kadapa district. In this tour he would only visit two districts - Kadapa and Anantapuram. His next trip, he would be touring Chittoor and Kurnool districts.

Avakai Biryani sold out with negative rights
Sri Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara films has bought the Avakai Biryani for entire Andhra Pradesh including the negative rights. Avakai Biryani is being produced by Sekhar Kammula and directed by Anish Kuruvilla. Telugu girl Bindu Madhavi is making her debut as heroine. Kamal Kamaraju who played a vital role in Godavari film is doing male lead. Sekhar Kammula also sold entire AP rights of his Happy Days to Dil Raju much prior to the release and Dil Raju made profits in multiple-folds with that film. Sri Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara films has bought Baladoor in the past.

Only Venky is non-political
Among the top heroes of Telugu cinema, only Venkatesh seem to be non-political for this election. Chiranjeevi started Praja Rajyam Party and all his relatives (Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun & Ram Charan Teja) become PRP brand ambassadors by default. By officially joining the TDP, all the Nandamuri heroes (Bala Krishna, NTR, Kalyan Ram & Taraka Ratna) have become the representatives of TDP. Nagarjuna became pro-congress by promoting YSR’s schemes on small screen. Krishna is a staunch supporter and the fans of Krishna and Mahesh Babu started an organization that supports congress. This leaves only Venkatesh out of the politics as he seems to have taken neutral stand as of now.
