Mahesh and his biceps

The era of washboard abs or commonly known six packs has now dawned upon Tollywood. Erstwhile, it was among the Bollywood people Hrithik Roshan, Sharukh Khan, Amir Khan and now in Telugu among the likes of Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj, Vishal and Surya. It is now star hero Mahesh Babu’s turn to join the six pack league of gentleman and flaunt his taut abs. But, instead of straining his tone on the abs, he is planning to build his biceps. An amalgamation of tight abs accompanied by a gorgeous biceps is sure a new trend engendered by Mahesh Babu.

His biceps are being put under stress to create a fresh feel in his looks for his upcoming movie in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. Singanamala Ramesh produces this movie on Kanaka Ratna Movies banner.

Titled for the time being as ‘Varudu’, the movie launch was held in the month of May. Industry talk reveals that the on-going shoot will start from the 15th of November at Ramoji Film City. The cast and crew then start off to the arid deserts of Rajasthan for a prolonged schedule of 60 days for filming.

A few sequences that has a rural backdrop will be canned from Nov 22, in the locales of Pollachi, Kerala. Intro song choreographed by Raju Sundaram is decided to be canned in South Africa and Namibia from the 1st of February. Apart from this, two more songs will be done by Bollywood choreographers Saroj Khan and Vaibhav Marchant.

Mahesh Babu now drives a Taxi in this movie, as he plays the role of a taxi driver. The antagonist role is entrusted to Prakash Raj and Suneel plays Mahesh’s buddy. The change script might adversely affect the title and this movie might be rechristened in awhile.

The filming is planned to be completed in the upcoming schedules in April and May and is slated for a July 18 release.

Devi Sri and Charmee’s film from 24th

There have been many rumors about Devi Sri Prasad going steady with Charmme in the past. They always made it clear that they were just good friends. The pair of Charmme and Devi Sri Prasad are pairing up for a film to be produced by Frames Entertainments banner that produced Yamagola Malli Modalaindi in the past. Pavan is going to direct this film. This film will be launched on 24 of this month.

Telugu Desam Party sounds election bugle

NTR PRANGANAM (GUNTUR): Telugu Desam Party sounded the election bugle through its mammoth ‘Yuva Garjana’ held here on Wednesday, which also signalled the formal entry of filmstar and N.T. Rama Rao’s son Nandamuri Balakrishna into politics here on Wednesday.

The meet which witnessed a near-stampede situation in the enclosures surrounding the dais was also used by the party to unveil its youth policy named ‘YES’ (Youth Empowerment Scheme).

Rs. 50,000 crore

The scheme envisages several measures to provide jobs for the youth through allocation of Rs. 50,000 crore over a period of five years.

Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu who announced the scheme said that a separate ministry would be created to implement it.

Slew of sops announced at the meeting include loans at 10 paise interest rate, an unemployment allowance of Rs.1,000 per month to the unemployed, and free education for poor students among the forward castes.

Describing youth as a political powerhouse, he said positive change could come only through their involvement and expressed satisfaction over support from the youth to the party at a time when some defectors deserted it.

He also announced a Rs. 500-crore budget for the minorities with a 5 per cent reservation for Muslims if Telugu Desam Party returned to power.

On Telangana, he said the party would go as per the sentiments of the people and not force its decision on them.

Whenever the name of Nandamuri clan was invoked it met with rapturous response from the teeming crowds, who repeatedly cheered Mr. Balakrishna during the course of his address.

Mr. Balakrishna declared that he was taking up this political responsibility unable to tolerate the present situation in the State and gave a call to the youth to throw out the “corrupt Congress”.

He said his services would be available to the party and recalled that N.T. Rama Rao had given preference to the honest and efficient youth to enter the portals of Assembly.

Lashing out at the Congress, Mr. Balakrishna said when N.T. Rama Rao was in power he never encouraged nepotism.

The Congress rule was marked by atrocities on women, corruption, rowdyism, and terrorism.

“People today live in constant fear wondering when and where a bomb will explode,” Mr. Balakrishna quipped .

NTR’s ideals

Harikrishna described the fight for power between Congress and Telugu Desam Party as the one between “adharma and dharma” and asserted that the Nandamuri clan would seek people’s mandate for upholding N.T. Rama Rao’s ideals for Telugu people.

Cine stars Kalyanram and Tarakaratna were also present on the dais adding colour to the event being described by party people as a clear indicator for their wresting power in 2009 Assembly elections.

Vishnu Corrects His Wife's Spelling

This might sound like an outcome of a numerological suggestion or perhaps a genuine case of mispronunciation and understanding of the name but then the fiancée of Manchu Vishnuvardhan Babu who is better known as the daughter of Y S Sudhakar Reddy, brother of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was known as Veronica till recently.

Apparently, her name is not Veronica and it is Viranica. This was revealed by none other than Vishnu himself who blushed at the very pronunciation of her name. Recently, their engagement took place in a grand gala style and now the wedding is on the anvil and folks say that it will be done in a never before manner.

For now, Vishnu is busy with the shooting of his film 'Saleem' and Viranica happens to be a graduate from the US who has done jewelry designing. It remains to be seen how calm she would be when she sees her fiancé romancing the most seductive actress in the Telugu industry Ileana. Good luck for that one Viranica… and Vishnu too!!!

Abhinayasri paid Rs 5 lakh as penalty to ensure her release in Bangkok

Abhinayasri, an upcoming actress who won prestigious Nandi award in 2006 for her best performance as comedienne in “Paisalo Paramathma”. She won the hearts of the Telugu masses with her dance in ‘Aa Ante Amalapuram’. The song became one of the biggest hits in the industry because of her sizzling moves she got an opportunity in the movie roles and item numbers in Tollywood. Even acted in “SMS’, “Venkat Tho Alivelu”, “Hari Om” and other movies. Moreover, the appearance of Mumaith Khan into the Tollywood deprived her chances and she lost many opportunities in the Telugu film industry. Abhinayasri had no choice left and started doing stage performances.

Lately, it was reported that she was in Bangkok for a stage show and consumed heavy dose of liquor and under its influence, she quarrelled with the organizers and there was a serious verbal duel with the bystanders too. The Bangkok police registered a case against the Abhinayasri and also took her into custody and shifted her to police station. The organisers went to the police station and paid Rs 5 lakh as penalty for her release.
