Andhra: Strike hits shootings of film workers

Within 10 days ago, more than 14,000 film workers in 24 different trades, are members of the AP Federation of Cinematography (APFIEF), began an indefinite strike in Tollywood, seeking higher wages from the manufacturers.
But there seems to be a sign of the satlemate on the battle between the Federation and the Telugu Film Producers' Andhra Pradesh Film Industry Employees Council (TFPC).
According to sources, the production of more than 17 films Telugu, including major productions by Balakrishna, NTR, Prabhas and Mahesh Babu, continue to affect the strike.
In a meeting held recently in the AP Film Chamber of Commerce, members of 17 of 24 craft organizations have agreed to wage increases, roughly about 33%. "However, members belonging to seven other crafts are holding on, demanding wage increases of between 80 and 100%," KC Sekhar Babu, Secretary, AP Film Chamber of Commerce, said. So it seems that the strike will last for several days or weeks can be!
"Recent wage increases in 2007. As it is, the increase should be the last year. But our repeated requests were ignored. Everyone knows that prices are skyrocketing, and daily wage labor, there is no way we can continue to work at the same salary "said K. Rajeswar Reddy, APFIEF secretary.
