Akbaruddin Owaisi attack in hyderabad


Chandrayangutta legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi is in critical condition after unidentified armed men opened fire on him inChandrayangutta on Saturday. Police said two other people alsoinjured in the shooting, and added that the attack was said to have been master-minded by his rivals.

Tension escalated in the whole area of the old city, as followers ofthe legislature Majlis gathered in large quantities in theSantoshnagar Owaisi Hospital, where bleeding profusely, MrOwaisi was taken after the attack. According to police sourcessaid Owaisi was on his way to participate in the jeep when a group of men opened fire and sword assault on those in a jeep.

Unconfirmed reports said a Majlis legislator Balala also wasinjured in the accident. In the other two victims were transferred toa private corporate hospital in Malakpet.

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy canceled all his meetingsand rushes to Owaisi Hospital.

Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi is the younger son of the late SultanSalauddin Owaisi, the chief architect of the All India Majlis-e-Muslimeen Ittadul (AIMIM), who won seven assembly seats inAndhra Pradesh in the last election. Akbaruddin Owaisi AsaduddinOwaisi older brother is the president of AIMIM and represents theconstituency of Hyderabad in the Lok Sabha now.
