Seventeen people were killed in Arunachal Pradesh

Seventeen people were killed and two crew members, including captain Varun Gupta pilot and four passengers survived with serious injuries, Tawang Deputy Commissioner Po Gamlin said.The wounded were rushed to civil hospital in Tawang and will be raised to the air tomorrow, Guwahati, said.
This is the second helicopter crash in the border region of China, Tawang. Indian Air Force (IAF) MI 17 minutes after take-off the helicopter crash on 19 November last year, killing 12 on board.
Civil Mi17 state Pawan Hans Chopper, manufactured in 1996, was a regular flight to Tawang from Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, Pawan Hans sources said. It had a valid certificate of airworthiness to 28 August this year.
There were two versions of what caused the mishap.Pawan sources said Hans chopper fire, broke into pieces and crashed into a ravine near Tawang civil helipad at about 1357 hours. The helicopter took off at 1245 hours, they said.The exact cause has yet to clarify, but not be ruled out technical snag, the sources said.
An official at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that according to preliminary reports chopper crashed "because of the likely wind shear and down the draft of the landing and caught fire on impact with the ground."
The official said in New Delhi that the committee will be established to investigate the accident and a team of high-level officials of the DGCA conducted by the Director-General EK Bharat Bhushan visited the accident site tomorrow.
The security forces and locals swung into rescue operations.Persual passenger manifest showed that the colonel-level officer and three women among the dead. Man, woman and two minors - a boy and a girl - was Asif as the name and four people can be from one family.
The dead were identified as Ms Anita, Baruah Dr tendon, Dr. Asif, Mrs R Asif, Mrs Jahara Mrs. Asif, Asif Master, A. Sharma, AK Saraugi Ms N Botha, Col Sharma, The Lord Bhatia, Mr T Mustafa.
Three people died Tiwari was captain of the second pilot, Flight Attendant Dixit and Maintenance Engineer Assistant SB Kulkarni.
Besides the captain Varun Gupta, other survivors Randiv Kumar Chaturvedi, Dorjee Wangdi, Rishi Bothra, Rajendra Pal and Ms Karishma Saraugi.
Official statement, said that the helicopter Mi-17 (VT-PHF) from Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd was carrying 18 passengers, including two minors, and five crew members from Guwahati to Tawang.
